New Scope

For our 25th Anniversary, Martha bought me a birding scope. It's a Nikon Fieldscope III Angled ED spotting scope with a 20 x 60eyepiece. It has made a huge difference!



On September 1, I took Cali for a walk then drove to Portland for a business meeting. Along the way, I stopped at Basket Slough National Wildlife Refuge to try out my new scope. I was able to confirm bird IDs that I could only guess with my binoculars. Not a bad start to September - 30 species on the first day of the month!
