I flew to Porto Alegre, Brasil, today. Now our family is spread out more than ever before. Here's the map:

If you were able to fly point to point around this whole circuit using Great Circle routes, the total would be 18,890 miles. That's the circumference of the earth (parallel to the Equator) at about 40.5 degrees latitude (about at the border between Oregon and California).
