For the tenth time, I'm in Porto Alegre, Brasil, this week working on our HP Brasil R&D plan. This is the first trip since I rediscovered birding, and I've added 14 birds to my life list (now at 318). It's all been casual birding in the park near the hotel and driving to and from work. At some point, I'd like to be able to go to better birding sites in Brasil. It's a rich environment for species I've never seen.
One of my new favorites is the Great Kiskadee. It's very common, but quite cool:
Now that I've started to be familiar with some of the common birds, I hope to be able to get out and do some more serious birding here sometime.
